I am currently 16 years old and I am going into my 7th year of competitive volleyball. I am very excited to have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level and receive the best education possible.
I have tried almost any sport you can imagine from soccer to gymnastics but the only sport that stood out to me was volleyball. I knew immediately that’s what I wanted to play for the rest of my life. The main reason why volleyball stands out to me is that I like having teammates whom I could rely on and vice versa. I take pride in always encouraging myself and my teammates to be the best, because I know they’d do the same for me.
I believe that I am a unique teammate because I don't only push for the best in myself, but my teammates as well. Coaches have told me that I am a very coachable athlete. I respect and value their opinions because they want what is best for their athletes, on and off the court.
I also like being active in volunteering and extracurricular activities. Last year, I was involved a number of clubs including Rotary Club, C.A.R.E Club and Art Club. My goal by the end of freshman year was to have 100 hours of community service. I ended up with 160 hours of community service. This year, I transferred to a new school and now I participate in Mercy Service, the community service program at my school. My favorite club in school is Best Buddies and I love to spend time with the kids involved. Helping people is a key part of my life and I hope to continue through my high school experience.
