Since the age of 5, sports have been more than just a pastime for me – they're a passion deeply ingrained in my DNA. Raised by high school athlete parents, I embarked on a journey of trying various sports until I discovered my true calling – volleyball. It was under the guidance of a dedicated coach at my local YMCA that I honed my skills and gained the confidence to elevate my game to the highest level with my club team.
My commitment goes beyond the court; I aspire to play collegiate volleyball while pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. Recognizing the rarity of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I lead my team as a setter, highlighting versatility as a right-side hitter and an all-around player. Beyond playing, I've earned certification as an OHSAA volleyball referee and am actively involved in coaching at my local YMCA.
A leader on and off the court, I believe in setting an example. As a National Honor Society student and ambassador at my STEM charter high school, I thrive in project-based learning, often assuming the role of a group leader, which has made me adept at public speaking. This unique learning approach has taken me to Space Camp, preparing me for a successful college academic career.
As a teammate, I bring motivation and encouragement to the forefront. Leading with integrity, I acknowledge mistakes without excuses, focusing on improvement for the next play. With unwavering dedication, I give my all in practice, complemented by extensive off-court efforts to continually enhance my skills. My parents instilled in me the values of dedication, accountability, hard work, and determination – skills that transcend the volleyball court and will shape my life.
While my volleyball journey spans just a few years, my commitment to improvement is unwavering. I embrace hard work, knowing it's the cornerstone of success, and I bring a potent mix of dedication and passion to elevate my skills to new heights. Given the opportunity, I am confident that I would be a valuable asset to your program.
