- 2022 OHSAA DIVISION III VOLLEYBALL SEMI-FINALS
Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball when I was 9 years old, and my love for the game has only grown. I am a hardworking, motivated athlete who strives to get better everyday, whether that's covering the hitters, working on serve receive, or even just pushing my teammates to work harder in practice. Coach-ability remains a strong suit of mine; I believe every piece of insight a coach has told me has a purpose, and without it, I wouldn't be the player I am today. In addition to being coachable, I am a great all-around player. In other words, defense and passing remain my main focus as a Libero, but I have the tools in my toolbox to play any position thrown at me. As a Libero, it is my job to control the back court and do my best to keep our side in system as much as possible. This is a huge role to fill; therefore, I always try to do my best at the two things that I can control: attitude and effort. As long as I give 100% effort and maintain a great attitude, I can remain a leader and a good teammate. Relating to effort, I never give up until the ball completely hits the floor and I will dive, run, and jump to keep the volley alive.
Furthermore, academics are also very important to me and I want to attend a school that can push me academically and athletically, so I can thrive in my future career and become the athlete I aspire to be.
