Annelise Wolfe '21 Recruiting Profile

In every activity in the classroom, on the volleyball court, or on my own time, I have always targeted excellence. I find myself on a continual path towards excellence through my determination for constant improvement and maintaining a positive attitude that is uplifting to myself and others.  As a left-handed, predominantly front-row player, I have immensely enjoyed employing intelligence to work out strategies to help my team win games, while acknowledging the necessary efforts of my other teammates in order to achieve the feat of a kill. What has always captivated me about this sport in particular is the team aspect. The dependence that my teammates and I have on one another brings a whole new meaning to family that is a blessing to be able to experience on a court. This family aspect was a key contributing factor to successes on different teams I have played on, specifically during the 2019 school season where my teammates and I won the state title! It would be an incredible experience to continue playing in a collegiate setting where I can also further my academic career.

Academically, I seek a rigorous level in college like I have sought in high school by taking both AP and Dual Enrollment classes.  In addition, I was chosen to attend the Roanoke Valley Governor’s School which has technology-infused science and math classes. The school’s annual one-month Intersession in January, dedicated to a student-designed experiment, leaves me with an interest in the science field with a hope of progressing towards a potential medical profession.
