Alexis Steinmetz '26 Recruiting Profile

I started my athletic journey at the age of 4 with eight years of competitive gymnastics. That taught me about work ethic and athleticism.

When I was 12, I bought my first volleyball with $10 in change after some inspiration from my best friend and started playing in the yard. I knew I had found a true passion. 

Three years later I have had two successful club seasons and two great high school seasons that ended with me as the starting setter on the varsity team and an All-District Award.  

I am very excited about this club season with American Volleyball Club because I think we are going to surprise some people. I love playing with other people who understand and share what I love.  we have a special team this year.

A big part of who I am is how I push myself in school.  I take as many AP and Honors classes as I can and have been on a journey that I set in motion in 8th grade to hopefully be accepted into Governors School for my last two years of high school. This is a dual enrollment math and science program with George Mason University. I hope to continue that pursuit of science while playing volleyball in college.
