My name is Olivia and I just finished my first year playing club volleyball on the 15 states team. I was asked by my club to join the 15 Nationals team to play with them at AAU national tournament in Orlando. I'm very excited and believe they asked me this is because of my hard work, my love of the game, and my dedication to being the best player I can be for myself and for my team. Before volleyball I was a competitive gymnast, and 3 years later I still hold several gym records.
I am a rising sophmore at The New Community School in Richmond, VA - a school for kids with learning challenges and in my case its dyslexia. My dyslexia has made academics very challenging for me but has also taught me how to advocate for my needs and how to keep going when things seem kind of impossible. I am not sure exactly what major or career path I want to pursue just yet, but I do know that I'm looking for a school where I can explore my passion for creativity and working with children while also being a part of a volleyball team that rocks.
