The athletes of the class of 2021 have already had so much taken away from them, from us, but we cannot give up. We have to fight even harder, work even harder and help support each other during these awful times. We cannot give up. I have not given up. I still have been training for wrestling as much as possible because I believe we will still have a chance. I still want to achieve my goal of being part of a collegiate team working hard as an individual as well as a teammate while working just as hard at my academics.
I would be a good fit for any team who wants someone who never gives up, works hard, learns from mistakes, and supports and respects his teammates and coaches.
I feel that I am different because I came from the bottom and worked my way up. Even though I have been on Varsity for my 4 years and I am currently a captain for my senior year, my freshman year wasn't so great. They needed a 99 pounder and I was 93 pounds and pretty small. My parents thought there was no way I would continue to wrestle after that experience, but I never gave up and I fought and trained hard. I loved wrestling more than any other sport. In my sophomore and junior year, I became a 2 time League Champ. I may not be a County or State champ yet, but I will not give up and I hope that myself and others will still have that chance for our senior year. We have to believe, we have to stay positive, we have to work hard and we always have to support each other.
