Personal Statement
I come from a family of athletes. My cousin, Cody Jones was the starting fullback and ST for Coach Stoops at the University of Kentucky a few years ago. My mom played college basketball and my brother in law, Julius Randle played basketball at UK and is now a Laker. I have had many positive influences around me and I know through these examples what it takes to make it to the next level and I am working extremely hard to get there.
I am blessed with great coaches who push me to my fullest potential. I moved from Scott County High School in Kentucky to Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colorado due to family circumstances just before my sophomore year where I earned a starting position immediately . My cousin was one of my coaches in KY and everyone knew my game. It didn't take me long to make a statement in Colorado. I am part of a successful team and we play with great pride and brotherhood. We won our league this year and made a playoff run. I am a true leader on my team. I take pride in setting the example for hard work, focus and determination. I am a winner. I have been a winner my entire life. Anything less than that is not acceptable.
I also take pride in the classroom taking AP and Honors classes at a college prep school. I respect authority and have never been in any trouble at school. I have great teachers who truly care about my education.
I was invited to the Rivals and participated in LA. I was also invited to The Nike Opening and participated in Charlotte. I participated in the Blue/Grey Camp and was recently invited back to the super combine. I am working hard in the offseason with intense individual speed, agility, and weight training. My goal is to play at the D1 level and I am being recruited by several schools at this level.
