Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Steven Broy and I am a Senior at Gorham High School, Maine. I am 5' 11", 160 pounds, and have been the starting shortstop for the past 2 years. I also play 2nd, and 3rd base and have filled in at 1st base.
I have been on the Varsity team for the past 3 years, filling in at my Freshman year when the starting shortstop was injured. I completed that year as their shortstop and have been the starting shortstop for the last two years. In my Junior year I received the Most Improved Player award, reaching a batting average of .489, and coming in 2nd for the league. Also, I lead the league in triples and tied in 3rd with the most hits. The season ended with me be selected as the First Team starting shortstop for the S.M.A.A All Conference (www.smaabaseball.com).
I'm first on the field and last off, never walking, but always running. I don't slack off at practices and am totally dedicated to my team and teammates.
I would like to stay in the New England area, or just outside of it, and am looking into Law Enforcement as my major. As an incoming Freshman, I am interested in any school that will give me the opportunity to play on a regular basis and to show them that I would be an asset to their team. My high school and Legion coaches would be more than happy to speak with you about my positive attitude and teamwork. Thank you!
