Personal Statement
My name is Luke Wiest, and I am beginning my junior year at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. My father is a college professor, and my mom works at my school. Because of their influence, my educational experience, and my love of learning I am dedicated to achieving great things in college both athletically and academically. I have played baseball as long as I can remember, first at the rec league level and now at the high school varsity level. I have always loved the sport, from watching my favorite pro team on television to playing the game myself. I love the little nuances of the game that separate the good players from the great ones. Baseball has always come naturally to me, but I understood from the word go that what would set me apart was work ethic. I strive always to be the hardest worker on my team or in my class. It is my sincere hope that I will be able to play baseball into college and even beyond. But I also understand that such opportunities are afforded to only a very few. So I will study hard, work harder than the player beside me, and play as much baseball as I can until my opportunities run out. Thanks for reading this and for considering me.
