Heading into college, I look to work hard on and off the field. Academics are very important to me, but I also wish to continue to play the sport that I love.
On the field, I am a hard working competitor. I understand that my strengths are not in my build and the numbers that I put up, but rather in how hard I play and how hard I practice. As a player I will give you 110% of the effort that I can, no matter what day. I work hard to keep myself playing at a consistent level. I had suffered many setbacks on terms of injury and that has not stopped me from still trying to get better. I have suffered three concussions, two torn rotator cuffs to my throwing shoulder, arm surgery to repair nerve damage in my non throwing elbow, a long with two dislocated kneecaps. While recovery has been long and painful, I'm always willing to work to get back to where I was. Unfortunately, I believe this has affected my numbers, but I am still getting stronger and working towards my goal of playing college baseball.
Off the field, I will represent your team with pride and behave to the best of my ability. I am an outgoing kid and I care a lot about the people and community around me. I want my impact on this world to be a lot bigger than baseball and what I can do in the classroom, and that is how I try to handle myself, just trying to make a difference to someone and as many people as I can. In my free time, I am in a select choir and in a boys a Capella group here at the high school, but I am not sure if that is something I am looking to do in college as well.
In the classroom, I am a hard working student. After a four month concussion sophomore year, I am no longer the same student that I was before but it has taught me to build on the strengths that I do have. My strongest subjects are usually English based courses or electives because writing tends to be my strongest ability. I plan attending college for sports communication/ journalism, hoping that my determination to make an impact in the world and my writing will lead to a successful life after college.
