Baseball requires both team work and individual contribution. Defensively, as a catcher, I can see the entire field, help guide defensive plays and read the 'pulse' of the game... Offensively, as a hitter, I can help the team by driving in runs and getting on base. I am entering my Junior year at Susquehanna Valley High School as our primary catcher. I just completed my first full year on Varsity Baseball. As there was a senior catcher already on the team, I did not expect to play behind the plate as much as on JV. Soon, as I worked through the Varsity season, pitchers started to ask for me to be their catcher and my performance lead me to earn the starting catcher position. My ability to block, frame and call a game made a difference on the team and in the players. I was the catcher for our STAC playoff game as well as throughout our Sectional run. As a Junior, I still have room to mature and increase in physical size, strength and power and look forward to becoming a leader on the team. I also play Travel ball for the Sports Zone Baseball Academy in Central New York on the Braves Red showcase team comprised of top players from all over the State. The Braves Red team is the highest level Showcase team of uncommitted players at the Sports Zone Baseball Academy and I have been selected as the primary catcher.
My goal is to play College baseball at the highest level of competition, while pursuing my education in Engineering or Architecture. I am determined to be the best player I can be by working with my travel team and trainers year round. My goal is to make an impact and contribute on any team I am selected to play for both behind the plate and at the plate. I will be a dynamic part of that team and strive to help the team reach their overall goals.
