Personal Statement
A hard-working athlete who thrives at his positions and drives his team to compete at higher levels.
By putting in extra work outside of team practices every week, I earned a starting position in every Varsity game as a sophomore and ended the 2018 season with a .415 batting average, receiving the Offensive Player of the Year award for a Texas state playoff team and a unanimous 1st Team All District award for second base. Most importantly, I encouraged several teammates to also put in additional training time outside of practices and they improved their stats as well. I worked daily to improve my stats in 2019, ending with a .426 batting average, 31 steals, .991 fielding percentage (1 error), earning 1st Team All State, and led the team to it's first ever Regional Finals appearance. Separate from high school, I play for the Texas Stix, an established organization with a strong history of developing players for college and for MLB teams. I plan to keep focused on my goals, increase my stats for my senior year and to help our team make a run for the state title in 2020.
In addition to being a strong student who exceeds eligibility standards, I aim to be a direct-impact collegiate athlete on the field. I’m looking for a quality blend of academic and athletic experiences, including learning from a baseball coaching staff that develops me as a student athlete, to position me strongly after graduation.
