Hello, my name is Monet Koorndyk. I am a dedicated and hardworking athlete competing in the sport of cheerleading. I am a Worlds Competition Cheer Team member at Levels 6-7 and proudly serve as a Varsity High School Cheerleader.
My journey in competitive athletics began as a gymnast and trampolinist. I reached Level 9 in both disciplines before transitioning to competitive cheerleading at age 14. I currently train at OC Allstars in Orange County and started on a Level 5 team. 2022-23, I completed a season with a Level 6 Worlds Team named Black, and I am now preparing at OC Allstars to participate in coed stunting with a Level 7 Worlds Team called Shadow.
As I enter my final year at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, I am thrilled to be a part of the Varsity Sideline and Competition Team. This will be my second year on Varsity, as I was a team member during my sophomore year. I took a break in my junior year to focus on the Worlds Team, but now I am fully committed to working hard on both teams and making the most of my senior year.
During the summer before my senior year, I am devoting my time to training alongside Level 7 World Cheer athletes from Navarro, TVCC, Michigan, and Oklahoma State. While understanding my skills, capabilities, and mindset, my goal is to join either a coed partner stunt or a coed group stunt team in college and participate in the college sideline team. Although I have lived on the West Coast my whole life, I am eager to embrace new experiences and explore opportunities on the East Coast. Above all, I am open to any school that allows me to achieve my goals and provides a positive and fulfilling environment. The size or location of the school is not a deciding factor for me; what matters is receiving a quality education while competing in the sport I love.
Currently, my top two preferred majors are sports medicine and business management. However, my interests may evolve during my senior year of high school. My mind remains open to exploring various options, while my primary focus in athletics is to continue pursuing my passion for cheerleading at a competitive level. Additionally, I aspire to serve as an inspiration and positively impact the younger generations as a leader and mentor.
