Ansley McGowan '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I’m Ansley McGowan and I am hoping to play field hockey at a competitive collegiate level! I’ve been playing since 8 years old for the Gateway Field Hockey Club in Saint Louis, MO. I find field hockey as a big source of joy in my life and I love that there is always a next level of skill and competition I can aspire to get to! In addition to my club, I am a captain on my high school varsity team (Westminster Christian Academy) and have been starting since my freshman year. On the field, I’m a leader who can play at a fast pace and make calculated plays. I commonly use 3D skills, quick change of pace, and powerful shots in creating defining game moments. As a teammate, I encourage and communicate with other players in a respectful and clear way. In the off-season I enjoy squash, club field hockey, running, and soccer. I love to read and keep a high standard for myself academically. I have 4.01 GPA and this year I’m working hard to make that number become even higher! I was glad to receive a 33 on my last act and a 1370 on my PSAT, and I plan to continue to work on getting my test scores up. Though I am focused on getting good grades, I don’t believe these things define me and my passion for learning. I’m interested in engineering and business and this year I’m taking a CAD class I’m really enjoying, furthermore, I’ve joined the robotics team at my school and I’m looking forward to this new chapter! Additionally, I‘m an active participate in the National Charity League and my favorite volunteer activity would have to be packing diapers at the Saint Louis Diaper Bank. I’m excited to continue working towards my goal of playing field hockey in college and I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that come my way!
