Personal Statement
Ever since I was young I have enjoyed being outside and playing sports. I first started football when I was seven years old. I have always been blessed to be one of the fastest kids on my teams. Move ahead a few years to high school football to my freshman year. Our varsity school coach was looking for a kicker for the team. I tried it and he told me I would be their kicker. My sophomore year I kicked for the varsity team; played offense and defense for the junior varsity team. I scored 13 touchdowns in 9 games. My junior year I was selected 1st team All Conference Chicago Catholic League and MVP Special Teams for our school team. I have always had the desire to be competitive and ready to do whatever my coaches asked of me. Here are a some stats from my senior year that I think give a pretty good snapshot of what I can do:
Offensive Stats
Receiving - 1039 yards (first in conference and seventh in state) on 58 receptions for a 17.9 average, and 11 touchdowns
Rushing – 211 yards on 42 rushes and 1 touchdown

Special Teams
Kick Returns – 542 yards on 19 attempts with 2 - 85 yd touchdowns

PAT’s - 40/46 (3 blocked) FG – 3/6 Longest 28 yds. - twice
Defensive
56 Tackles – 32 Solo, 24 Assisted, 4 TFL, 5 Interceptions, and 1 touchdown

Total Points (TD’s, PAT’s, and FG) = 139
It has been great to be a leader to my teammates this year through my work ethic and positive encouragement. I have given the younger guys someone to look up to during our practices and games. I am also showing leadership in the classroom and to my teachers. I was nominated and became an Ambassador for our school admissions team. This allows me to talk and show others our school and encourage them to consider being a part of the school. I think I am working to be the best student, athlete and leader on and off the field for my school.
Because of the leadership I have learned and shown at my school, it has been the training ground for what I can accomplish in a college setting. Football is my passion and, given the chance, I will use opportunity to be the best player I can be to help the team win.
