I have been playing basketball since I was four years old at my local YMCA. I was invited to play on a travel team, the summer before 3rd grade. I joined to have fun and to spend time with my friends. I was typically one of the last in for rotation during games. As I got older I started to take basketball more seriously. I started lifting weights on a regular basis and practicing every day. Either on my hoop at home or with friends. The more I practiced and lifted the better I got. I worked hard and became a starter, the lead rebounder, and scorer for my travel team. During my freshman year, I earned a spot as a starter on my high school's varsity team. I understand how to work hard, make goals, and to go after your dream. Some of the skills that I possess are strong ball-handling skills, quick rebounds, and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of.
Off the court, I study and maintain a good GPA. I also volunteer at my church and teach Sunday School to 2nd -5th graders.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself on the basketball court, and get a quality education I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to my peers and make my parents proud.
