I could start my introduction with all the normal accolades, like how I am a talented and gifted basketball player that loves the game, but I’d like to start a bit different. I do love the game, not because it’s all the hype but because it’s in my blood. It truly runs through my veins, I come from a family of sports talents both on my mother’s and father’s side. I came to basketball at an early age and have played almost every day since I picked up my first basketball at age 3. My family, friends and coach all say that I am a natural when it comes to basketball. I would have to agree, it feels so natural, the ball and my movements flow so freely when I play basketball. For me, it’s almost like how the wind moves, so easily, so smooth that it makes my drive relentless.
What I bring to the table: First string player with a long lean frame, 6’3, a 165 pounds, Short Guard/Forward with an average scoring record of 15 points per game and commitment to a daily workout training regimen-benching 155 and squatting 255 to start. I currently play for Cocke County High (#3) and previously played AAU Travel Ball for 10 years. I would be honored for you to attend one of my games as this will give you an opportunity to see my dynamic playing ability firsthand.
STRENGTHS: Size, Strength, Speed, Agility, Hand/Feet Coordination, Thoroughness and Relentless ability to grow and learn. I have a long lean frame that allows me to move and cover larger court capacity. The three-pointer shot is my strongest asset, phenomenal ball recovery- my swift movements allow me to continuously steal the ball, while my long legs give me the aptitude to swiftly transition into a fast-break any given moment.
GROWTH ABILITY: Although I work hard at the game, I have learned that I will continue to have areas to learn and grow whether from the coach directly, team members or games played. I know without a shadow of a doubt that keeping myself grounded and receptive to great coaching will push the boundaries of what I am capable of and allow me to surely achieve new heights.
ACADEMICS: I have maintained a 3.8 G.P.A. while also attending dual enrollment college classes. I also commit myself to be involved in community programs that help mentor youth.
SUMMARY: I have outstanding athleticism and the agility to continue developing college level skills. I know that I have the potential to be a scholarship level player with skills to contribute to the continuous team growth across the board.
I would say I am average teenager, but I am not, I know my strengths, my sense of community and family love. I have been taught the worth in living a balanced life. A life with unwavering integrity, commitment, ownership, self-worth, and love for others. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Jordan Woods
