Making the starting six for my high school team as a freshman was amazing, but since then I have been on to bigger and better things.
In my sophomore year, I managed to become team captain and I earned the number one position on the team, as well as leading my team to a fourth-place finish at our district tournament and going on to compete in the individual regional tournament. However, when I didn't place in regionals, I was able to reflect on my game and turn my weaknesses into strengths.
In my junior year I was able to retain the number one spot and place fourth in our regional tournament. I then advanced to regionals and missed the cut for states by three shots. Although the result is not what I wanted it was a great learning experince.
I view college as a fantastic opportunity for in-depth learning, both inside and outside of the classroom. My goal is to attend a college or university that has a challenging academic curriculum and a competitive golf program. I trust in my work ethic and know I will work harder than anyone else.
I do what it takes to reach my full potential in the classroom and on the course. I am known for putting the team's needs before my own. To me, the success of the team is the focus, not my personal statistics.
