One of my favourite feelings in the world is stepping onto a fresh sheet of ice, stick in hand, ready for a game with my team and doing what I love – playing hockey.
My name is Hunter Morgan, and I am a 17 year old (Class of 2024) who has been playing hockey for as long as I can remember. For the past five years I have been playing high-level hockey in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), while being able to attend a distinguished high school - St. George’s School in Vancouver, BC - and maintaining a high academic grade level. Last year, I was the assistant captain of my U17 Prep team and also played on the school’s Grade 11 Div 2 soccer and rugby teams. In my senior year, I am playing for the school's U18 team and as an alternate player with the Grandview Steelers in the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL).
Both sports and school have taught me a lot of character traits that I have learned to value in life such as hard work, communication, teamwork, being coachable/teachable, always being a learner, and most importantly, resilience. I believe without challenge in life, I am unable to learn, and this helps build who I am today.
I aim to continue to play hockey at a high level while furthering my education at a post-secondary NCAA college or university. I want to do this by taking the things I learn from both sports and high school and using them as a guide to be successful in life. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.
