I played several sports growing up and was energized to find hockey at age nine. It's not a typical sport for a Southern California kid but my parents helped me figure it out. I like the speed, action and being part of a team. Hockey also teaches life skills including teamwork, communication and respect. Hockey has also taught me how to be flexible in situations. Because my high school doesn't offer hockey, I play ice and roller for different teams and coaches which means I have learned how to adapt to various coaching styles and team dynamics. I've also overcome two separate wrist injuries over the past 2.5 years so that's why I've been playing rec leagues to gain my Mojo and strength back. I want to play in college because hockey can provide a place to belong. I want to proudly represent my college through a sport I love.
