Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Kanisha Anderson and my parents have been a big influence on all my choices, which has shaped who I am today. My hitting coach Shane Wells helped me become the player I am today but he recently passed away. I now hit with Dave Mercado and Craig Snow. All of their insight contributed to my softball growth. My dad played many sports in high school, But baseball was one of his favorite. His love for the game was the reason I became interested in softball but is not the reason why I continue to play and love it. I started playing softball in first-year 8U and it was amazing. By playing softball I realized how important it is to be a team player and that the game is not about individualized success, it's about your team's success and mental, physical and emotional growth. My academic goal is to do my best to get a 4.0 and get straight As in all my honor classes. The one big thing I had to learn is that nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and learning from your mistakes is the most important thing to achieve success. Some things I have learned along the way are to never give up, be open to new ideas, there's always a way to get better, and there's something new to learn every day.
