Personal Statement
I believe in pride, but only useful and necessary pride. I believe that challenge is the best tool for growth, even if you face possible failure. I believe that to succeed in this world, one must learn to survive and even thrive in adversity. I will admit that this is hard, but as my coach recently told me and my teammates: You don’t rise to the occasion, you fall back to the level of your training.
As training for life, college emphasizes this concept on all levels – intellectual, physical, and even emotional. I am ready for this test and my determination is stronger than any feelings of uncertainty.
I play smart, I adapt, and I understand team purpose. I want to use and develop those skills at the next level.
