Personal Statement
I am Jack Sawaqed I was born in Zarqa Jordan in 2004. I moved to the United States when I was 6 years old. I lived in New Jersey for 7 months but my dad couldn't find a job there so we came to Colorado and started to settle down.
For me soccer isn't just a sport, it's not just kicking a ball into a net. Its where I find joy in my life. I am a very lucky and happy person. I enjoy a lot of things but nothing compares to when I touch a soccer ball. The feeling I get in my heart is ineffable. I started playing on a competitive team in 2017. I was already behind everyone because they all started when they were really young but because my family had to settle down and be able to afford to pay for the club so I just played by myself and watched a lot of videos on youtube. I started late but I kept up with everyone around me. For me one of the best feelings happened my first full year on Varsity sophomore year. I was having a tough season and a tough game against Dakota Ridge. We went into the locker room during halftime and I was disappointed with how I played the first half of the game. When we walked out of the locker room I saw the light shining on the feild and I knew that I was going to score and play good. When I saw the lights shining it was the most confronting view I have ever seen.
I have great shot power and a very high IQ. I have a strong body and keep in shape to the best I can. I am one who doesn't like being told what to do so I try to lead the team to the best we can become. I can take criticism all day because what coaches say during practice will carry on with me and I reevaluate what they said and make sure I do better.
I have always cared a lot about school. I like to be the smartest person in the room so I try hard to get the grades I want. I do great in school and like to keep pushing myself. My parents taught me to always strive for the best and that's what I always do. My sister lettered in academics and my brother lettered in soccer and I wanted to push harder than them so I lettered in both academics and soccer. What's good with the way we were raised is that we want each other to do better and achieve something the other couldn't achieve.
I am Jack Sawaqed and I love to play Soccer and I just want to continue playing into college where I will be pushing myself to be the best I could possibly be.
