As a student athlete, I am driven to excel in both the classroom and on the field. I have a strong desire to pursue the sciences in my college studies. Part of this desire has stemmed from my experience with exercise and learning how the body functions, especially when under stress. While I know that my life goals involve something in the medical field, I also have a strong desire to continue playing soccer. Students who play sports have strong connections to their schools, to their peers, and typically perform better in the classroom.
I'm not only a player, I'm an avid fan. I realize my time with the sport as a player is limited and I want to prolong it as long as I am able simply because I love the game. I love being a part of a team. I love the bonds I've formed with my peers. My closest friends are those I've been playing with for years. We celebrate one another in a way I've never seen off the field. I'm a team player and a leader. My job playing the CDM, as well as center back, is to support my teammates. I've been told I have strong leadership and communication skills and have been the captain of several of my teams. I feel that continuing on with a sport that has given so much to me will only make me a better member of a college community.
