I have always looked for ways to improve myself, especially when it comes to soccer. I take pride in my academic abilities, as evident by my GPA, test scores and the Honors and AP classes I take. Physically, I have always been one of the most fit players on my Club and High School soccer teams, as I ran cross country to ensure my soccer fitness level was high. I also played travel baseball at a high level, and play HS basketball to keep well-rounded. After my freshman year of HS, I decided to really focus on soccer, as my goal was, and remains, to play competitive soccer in College. I have continued to grow through joining a top Club team, the Medford Strikers, and am focusing on training 10 months per year. Last year, I made the New Jersey ODP East Regional team and our Club team played 6 games in Spain in the fall of 2022 against some top LaLiga Youth teams. In my first 2 varsity HS seasons, I have 12 goals and 9 assists, including drawing 5 PKs for my team this past season season outside of my stats. In Club last year, I scored 8 goals, playing mainly forward and attacking midfield. More important than stats, I continue to improve my soccer IQ and am appreciating how different tactics are used to highlight our teams’ strengths and opponents’ weaknesses to help us win games. I will play whatever position is needed by my team to win games, as evidence by my playing center fullback during many of my NJ ODP games, with my Coach calling me his “Franz Beckenbauer”!
I plan to continue to develop my individual offensive and defensive skills during Club soccer this fall, winter and spring of 2024, with the goal of entering my Senior year with the ability to offer college coaches a versatile player who can play multiple positions and fit into different playing styles and systems.
