Conor Garvey '25 Recruiting Profile

"Hello my name is Conor Garvey and I’m a 2025 center back from Portland, OR. I currently play for [Portland City United 07 Red 1 and La Salle Catholic College Prep in the 5a OSSA high school league. I wear number 12 on Portland. city United and number 22 on La Salle College Prep.

Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.875 GPA. I excel in various subjects including World history, Catholic studies, and mathematics. 

I am a left footed center back who is comfortable playing the short passes to my wingers and midfielders. I thrive in Ariel defense and I take a lot of pride in winning headers on the back line and also in set plays. On the outside back position I have the experience of a center backs defense but I am also great at creating overlaps and supporting my wingers. In my junior season I was named 1st team all conference and 2nd team all state. 

Soccer is very important to be because I see it as a gateway to relationships and new expirenses beyond the sport itself. My greatest memories come from this sport and I know this is my passion and what I want to do in college. 

Through college athletics, I desire to play at a high level, compete every day, make a significant difference on and off the field, and earn a college degree.
