Personal Statement
My name is Luke Bjelland, I am a junior (11th grade) at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory. I play center midfield and/or outside back for high school and club soccer. I play for an Oregon soccer club called, Oregon United FC. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. Ever since I first played soccer, I have had a passion for the game. I have always been very committed to my sport in all aspects and I have always worked to improve my play in anyway that I could. I always have a positive impact both physically and mentally whether it be at practice or in game and always look to support and better my teammates. With my club team, OUFC, in the summer of 2019 we took home gold in US Club Soccer Nationals. I have also played at the international stage, in the summers of 2017 and 2018 I traveled to Sweden to participate in the Gothia Cup as well as Cup NO. 1 in Denmark. In addition, I have also played on the Oregon ODP team in 2017/2018. I am now looking to continue my soccer career at the college level. I am just as committed academically as I am athletically. As of now I am holding a 3.85 GPA while balancing the demands of soccer and school. I am interested in pursuing Business in College and am looking for a good fit between my studies and competitive soccer.
