I have played soccer since I was 4 years old. I have tried other sports, but wasn't as passionate about them as I am about soccer and decided to focus exclusively on it. When I first started playing, I wanted to be a striker and played in that position for 8 years. I decided to give goalkeeping a shot and switched positions 4 years ago. I found the skills I learned as a field player useful to incorporate into my goalkeeping such as my touch/ball control, distribution etc. I enjoy the pressure of playing as a goalkeeper, in everyday games and especially in critical games and situations (important games, penalties, etc). I strive to be another coach on the field, guiding the back line, being very vocal, while still encouraging my squad. I've been through some challenges in my life that have set me back but I worked through them and those challenges forced me to learn how to have a very strong mental game. I'm still growing physically and I train 4 times per week + lifting. I've learned how to balance academics and athletics-being on a club team, a HS team, and still keep a high GPA. I'm looking for a college experience that will continue to develop my athletic career while challenging me and pushing me to my highest potential. I also want the team to feel like a family-working together as a team, not just a bunch of great individual athletes.
