Personal Statement
I am Dillon Logan, a 16-year-old rising junior at Alexandria City High School in Alexandria, Virginia. My goals are to attend a top university, get an outstanding education, and play competitive college soccer. I am a recognized leader, extremely hard worker, and an exceptional student. I play left wing for the Alexandria Soccer Association (ASA) U17 Boys MLS NEXT side (Fall '23). I initially made the ASA 2007 Boys first team in 2016; in 2019, we won the USYS Eastern Regional Championship and I was the tournament’s joint top goal scorer. During the 2022-23 season, as team captain, I scored 10 goals and had 5 assists in the MLS Next Mid-Atlantic Division while leading my team through a difficult time involving off-field concerns. Despite that challenge, my team secured our club's first appearance in the 2023 MLS CUP Playoff where we fell short 4-3 against 4th ranked St. Louis City. I was invited to the Capelli ID invitational in November 2022 and was named the ASA’s Player of the Month in the same month. I also take my academics very seriously. I ended my sophomore year with a 4.18 GPA, taking two Advanced Placement classes and passing both AP Exams. For the 2023-24 year I am taking four AP classes and all other honors. I have made the academic Honor Roll every year since the 6th grade. I am also proud to have been able to earn my Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and plan on joining the National Honor Society when I become eligible as a junior.
