Steven Appiah-Yeboah '24 Recruiting Profile

I have played soccer since I could walk. I love soccer, and I have been encouraged and supported by my parents. My dad was a great soccer player in Ghana - his native country, and played since he was little, up through college in Ghana. My mother also played volleyball and soccer in high school. Our family has always been deeply involved with soccer and combined academics with sports. My goal is to continue to combine soccer with the academics in college. 

I am currently on the Clover Hill High School Varsity Soccer team. I started my sophomore year on the JV team in the first two months of the soccer season and was promoted to the Varsity team. I played mainly as a right-sided striker. Because of my pace and ability to use both my left and right foot, the Head Coach used me as a left or right-sided wing-back. He would observe the opposing teams, and if they had fast wingers, he would deploy me as a wing-back to support the defense but with the ability to join the attack on fastbreaks. 

In addition to playing for Clover Hill High School, I also play on a club team with the FC Richmond Soccer Club. My team has participated in multiple tournaments and won several tournaments. I have led my club team in scoring and assists.

I have always successfully combined my active soccer playing with a strong academic performance. My current weighted GPA is 4.38. I attend Clover Hill High School Mathematics and Science specialty program with a rigorous curriculum. I always maintain strong grades of mostly A’s and A+. I enjoy school and soccer and look forward to taking my game to the next level in college.
