Hi! My name is Jonathan Spoula and I am currently a senior (class of 2023). I have done a variety of sports in my time as a high school athlete, varsity cross country all four years(4 varsity letterman and captain senior year), track and tennis for one season each, and the sport I have been most passionate about, swimming, Although I only swam in high school for two years, I fell in love with it as soon as I walked in the door. I have seen my time drop in the 100 free from a 1:14 to a 0:59! The same has happened with many of my other events I have done including the 50 free(27.05), 200 free(2:14), and 500 free(6:40). I would love the opportunity to swim at the collegiate level and continue to grow as a swimmer, leader, and person.
On top of school activities, I have also been a five year member in the Civil Air Patrol, accumulating over 500 volunteer service hours with and outside of the organization. Participating in a wide array of leadership experiences including leading a local squadron of about 30 to leading a group of 150 students during a week long camp. This organization has also given me many opportunities to travel including going down to Arizona for a week long Pararescueman Jumper Orientation Course. The pinnacle of my career in the Civil Air Patrol was reaching the Ira. C. Award, the rank C/Lt Col. Less than 0.5% of CAP cadets ever reach this rank in their CAP careers.
