Personal Statement
After ending my gymnastics career, I wanted to play a sport that didn't involve a ball. Little did I know, later that year, I would join my 6th-grade volleyball team and continue to play at a competitive level. Through my amazing coaches, that pushed me and strived for my achievement, I learned to love every aspect of the sport.
Gymnastics not only created the basis for my athleticism but also a level of mental toughness and control. My work ethic and focus transfers off the court and into my academics as I hold a 4.0 GPA, take honors and AP classes along with riding and caring for my horse. While it seems like my life speeds by, I always look forward to high school volleyball and club season.
Our 2018 varsity volleyball team won the Kansas 6A state title. This team was comprised of all seniors. So in the 2019 season, the pressure was on us to uphold the previous season’s victories with an entirely new team. The season was amazing and my leadership grew and I was able to step up to any challenge with confidence.
Ultimately, through my high school years, I look forward to progressing each season and becoming the best athlete I can be and seeing where this incredible sport leads me.
