Hello, I am a 5' 5" catcher and utility player from Normal West High School in Normal Illinois, I will graduate in 2022. I have also played on a competitive travel softball team for 6 years , I have spent a lot of time working to grow as a person and as a player throughout the years. My primary positions on this team have been a catcher, in the batting order I am a middle of the line up contact hitter, with power. I personally believe knowing the field from all angles is important, I have listened and learned how to play every position, which has helped me become a utility player. I am currently interested in being a part of a competitive college softball team. I am looking for a school with a great Graphic Design program where I can earn a bachelors degree. I believe I am a good fit to contribute as a freshman on a competitive team that has a great "family" feel where I can make life long friendships with my teammates.
I started high school at Heyworth, a very small school compared to Normal West. While in eight grade with my school team at Heyworth junior high I was the starting catcher and helped lead my team to the state championships, we made school history and finished as runner-up in 1A state. At Heyworth High School I was a catcher and designated hitter for most of my freshman season, as a freshman I was an all conference honorable mention in the Heart of Illinois Conference. Unfortunately my sophomore year was taken away by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now as a junior at Normal West I am a varsity starting catcher and first baseman, while hitting in the 3 spot. I have been recognized on the sports page in the local news with my teammates so far this year. The change in high schools has helped me learn how to work through diversity and adapt to a new environment while making new friends. The change of school has only enhanced my training in terms of my game on and off the field. Since being at Normal West I have grown to love the people and the program in a short amount of time. The feeling of family I get from this team is something I crave for my future years of playing in college.
