Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Madison but my friends call me Maddy. For the fall semester of 2019, I attended and played ball at Roosevelt University in Chicago. While I loved and thrived in the college environment, I was no longer able to afford the school, resulting in my moving back home to Nebraska. I am currently working full time as a CNA and volunteering by giving softball clinics and lessons. I am planning to take classes this summer to complete credits needed to finish my freshman year. I earned 17 credits at Roosevelt and maintained a 3.9 GPA while playing fall ball. I only received a 3.9 because I had an A- in Chemistry, otherwise I would have a 4.0 GPA. I declared my major as Biology as it is my goal to attend medical school after I graduate.

For my travel team and Roosevelt I primarily played outfield. However, for my high school team and my earlier years of travel ball I was the first string pitcher and have continued to practice pitching so I can be more versatile for the needs of my future team. I am open to being a pitcher or a position player in college. I have played some 2nd base and was training to be a catcher at Roosevelt. I have caught many pitchers over the years and have a little game experience behind the plate. My batting average for fall ball was .286 with a slugging percentage of .857 and on base percentage of .444 during my total of 7 at-bats. Along with those stats, I hit one homerun, made contact every at-bat, and my quality at-bat percentage was .500 all during college. I am excited to bring my experience and competitive nature to a new program and make a difference on day 1.

  • Because I want an aggressive travel schedule and to consistently play top level competition, this fall I will play for Iowa Premier instead of with my high school team.
  • 2016 Suburban Legends (A)
  • Madison is the starting pitcher and a fast, smart outfielder with a gun. She has been awarded "most improved player" the last 3 years and "most valuable player" the last 2 years. She leads her team in OB% (.620), BA (.578) and slug %(.778). She is fast, smart and aggressive on the bases. She just started a rise ball this season and is quite effective. All of her pitches have exceptional rotation. She is just starting to show her potential. She is a diamond in the rough with a lot of success ahead of her... she has only been pitching 3 years and only throws against the top competitors. Her overall intensity for the game and competitiveness is just beginning to flush out her confidence- she's an impactful player no matter what you do with her.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
