My name is Marissa Vilanova. I am 14 years old and I play for New Jersey Intensity 14u Regional KO.
I am currently in 8th grade attending Howell Middle School North and next year I will be attending Howell High School. I have been playing softball since kindergarten when I used to continuously miss every ball hit to me. Now, after 8 years of hard work, I play travel ball on a successful team and work even harder than before. Softball is a huge part of my life and I want to continue this journey of mine for as long as possible. Ever since I was little, a dream of mine was to play in college. The classes I enjoy most in school are Language Arts and Social Studies because I am interested in writing and being apart of the fight for women's and people of color's rights when I am older. I have many abilities that make me stand out from others. Everybody around me knows I am very outgoing and am not afraid to stand up for myself. I bring many skills to my team such as positivity and leadership. At the beginning of this year, I was injured so for the season as of right now, I have no stats. I may not be the most powerful hitter but I hit balls in the gaps and I am also a very good bunter. I am a right handed fielder and hitter. My primary position is right field and my secondary is left field. I am very good at tracking balls and I never give up on a ball, even if it's foul. I believe I am the person on my team that brings their spirits up. If someone is upset about a mistake they made, I am always their to cheer them up with joke or tell them it's okay to make a mistake. I am looking for a medium to big school on the West or East Coats of the U.S. I hope I can continue softball into my college years because being out on the field with my best friends under the lights is the best feeling in the world and I never want to let it go.
