Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Carroll; I live in Upstate New York where I am currently a sophomore at the Academy of Holy Names. I began playing baseball when I was 4 years old because my Dad was a baseball coach. I continued to play baseball as a pitcher and second baseman until I was 12 and then decided to switch to softball. I started as a short stop on the Varsity softball team as a seventh grader at my first school and then my 8th grade season was cancelled due to COVID. I started my freshman year at Holy Names and started as their Varsity shortstop. I played for a couple different travel teams before I found my current travel team, the Mid-Hudson Rebels where I also play shortstop. This summer I attended an evaluation with the Softball Factory and based on their evaluation I was rated an A-Rated player and got to play in their Fall Classic in Savannah, GA this past November. Although I haven’t taken the SATs yet, I currently have a 3.9 GPA and strive to be the best student athlete I can be.
