• What an honor to play with the Capital District Starz this weekend. I found out that the team is handpicked to play two winter tournaments each year, so all of the girls play for other travel clubs. Our "All" Starz team won the tournament, going 6-0 and beating a tough Empire State Huskies Gold team in the final by a score of 7-2. I had a nice weekend at the plate, hitting .500 (7-14 with a hit batting lefty) and had the opportunity to catch a couple of the best pitchers in NYS. Only one player tried to steal on me but I threw her out at 2B. Just a ton of fun this weekend and I met a lot of new friends. I feel so fortunate for the opportunity!

• Frozen Ropes Winter Softball Showcamp

• Had a terrific time during the morning catcher session! Got in a bunch of reps and got some great tips from the coaches. The afternoon infield session was pretty packed so there were far fewer reps available but it was still very fun to be able to play outside in January!

• We fell short in this tournament, going 3-2 with a loss in the quarterfinals. I had a solid performance at the plate with a HR and 4 rbi and hit some hard shots into some tough outs. I played 3 games at catcher and 1 game in LF... AP in the other. Spring is almost here! Can't wait to get outside again!

• Xtreme won the trophy! We went 2-1 during pool play and entered Sunday as the #3 seed and went all the way. Huge semifinal win over the Empire State Huskies that we took 5-4 in an 8th inning. Then we won 5-0 in the final. I had a nice rbi single to RCF in the championship game as well as an rbi grounder to 2B. Umpire was loving that outside pitch!

• Tough tournament for the team. We went 2-2 and dropped a couple of games we should've won. First time in ages we've been eliminated in the first game on a Sunday! We'll be back with a vengeance in two weeks! Still a huge highlight on Friday as coach Chris won his 300th game as coach for Xtreme! He's been a powerful influence on me and has helped me grow into the player I am today. 300 wins is amazing and I'm so proud of coach Chris...

• I only had a chance to play in game 1 on Saturday as I'm the head stage manager in the HS play which had performances all weekend. We wound up going 3-2. Bad timing for me - really wish I could've been there Sunday to help my team!

• Herkimer Staff was amazing with organizing this event. As usual they treated every player with love and encouragement. I had a great time, although my overhand throw session was way off! Pop time today was 1.8 but I felt stronger and fielded my catcher position very nicely and tore it up during the hitting session. Loved meeting a bunch of new friends and visiting an older friend who plays for Herkimer.
