My name is Kaylee Edwards, I started playing softball when i was 7 years old and i fell in love that very first tryout. At first it wasn't anything too serious it was just as hobby, But when i got to be around 10 things started to get more intense and i realized that when I was playing in a championship game and if we would've won we would have been sent to Florida but my coach wouldn't let me play because i hurt my hand a few days before i got so mad i walked out of the dugout and told my mom i wanted to go home. My dad drug me aside and told me something i wont ever forget to this day, " Your not here to celebrate you and your not only here for you, your here for them." I really took that to heart, i walked back in the dugout and i cheered them on as much as i can because even though i wasn't in the game i couldn't give up on them. I've carried that throughout my years and now i am 14, a freshman in high school. These past years i have had many great coaches, and lessons taught to me about the game, not about my skill but about my work ethic and attitude. I won't say i am perfect there's always a way to get better, but i am there for my team and i am there to work, because i am not playing for me i am playing for them.
