Erin Newton '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Erin Newton.

    I am currently a freshman at Oregon High School in Oregon, Wisconsin.  Spring 2017 will be first year playing high school softball and I am looking forward to the opportunity.  This summer will be my third year of class A travel softball. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and I am on High Honor Roll for my first semester of the 2016-17 school year.

    I have wanted to play college softball for as long as I can remember. It has always been a goal but when I was younger, I did not know if I could reach that point. Over the last few years, I have became more serious about playing college softball and realizing how much it will take to get there. I have stayed focused on my goal, and have always given the best of my ability on the field and in the classroom. 

    Something that I believe makes me stand out more than other recruits is having perseverance and having the ability to stay focused in any kind of situation. This can be especially hard in high pressure situations, whether that be in school or on the softball field. I have learned to overcome those obstacles and to keep pushing forward towards my future and what I can do to be better.
