My name is Nora Strain and I am from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I played volleyball for around 10 years, beginning in Kindergarten and was introduced to golf around June of 2023, where I began tournament golf July of 2023. From there, I very quickly fell in love with the sport and decided to pursue golf rather than volleyball. I started on my schools varsity team my freshman and sophomore year and was a first time female golfer state qualifier at CCS, my sophomore year. While I was sick both days, I managed to push through and finish strong. I have been very blessed to grow up in an environment where I have been shown what hard work and dedication looks like through every aspect, including work, sports, and life in general. I truly believe I outwork everyone else and am willing to dedicate my time each and every day to become better. School is also a huge priority for me, and something that hasn’t come easy since beginning high school. Struggling my freshman and sophomore year academically, mainly from a testing standpoint, has led me to dedicate more time and effort into that area and am now maintaining a good GPA. Outside of school and golf, my faith is super important to me. As a follower of Christ, I believe playing golf is one of the many ways God has provided me with, to glorify him and something I passionately want to carry with me through college golf, the rest of life and ultimately play a huge role in the impact I make.
As an individual, I care deeply about the people around me. Im very outgoing and passionate about building strong relationships and friendships with others! I think my positive attitude, passion for the game, and ability to build relationships with my teammates and coaches would make me a good candidate for a college team. I have been blessed with many amazing coaches so far throughout my time in this sport, and hope to continue that experience throughout college.
I would like to attend a college where I can challenge myself in the classroom and the golf course. I would like to be a leader for others and a role model not only on the course, but outside of it as well and hope to go on to play the game I love most at a higher level where I can leave an impact!
