I started playing golf about 2 and half years ago, and it has become my passion! My first competitive tournament was in June of 2015 after spending 11 years training to be an elite soccer player. I traveled all around the country with my club team and with the Olympic Development Program (ODP), and represented North Texas in many tournaments and camps. My U14 club team won the Southern Regional in 2014, which qualified us for the National Tournament. We were one of only 8 Division I teams in the country. Playing at that level with some of the best players in the country was really amazing, and it was an experience I will never forget. Then, in October of my freshman year, one week before my High School Varsity season started, I had my fourth concussion. My parents and I decided, along with my doctor, that it was best not to play contact sports any longer, which included soccer. I was so disappointed, so to fuel my competitive spirit, I picked up a completely different sport and started all over again…..Golf. I have worked very hard, and I want to play golf in college.
I love sports! My education is extremely important to me and will have a big impact on where I decide to go to college. I do not know exactly what I want to major in right now, but I would like to be in the field of sports. Like taking on the medical side of sports and becoming a physical therapist. Or maybe be on the business side of it and be an agent or a manager. Playing golf is a real passion for me. It challenges my natural competitive drive, supports my personal discipline I learned in soccer, and drives my desire to become the best golfer possible. My goal by my Junior year in High School is to be consistently shooting in the high 70’s, and I know with my work ethic, I can make it happen. I am a good student, an athlete, and hope to become part of a team where I can make a real contribution. Teamwork is essential, and supporting my teammates, and having a coach that believes in me and my goals as a golfer are very important to me. All in all, I hope to find a great fit for my education and my sport…….
