Maya Sanchez '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm a senior at the Illinois Math and Science Academy. I've played for Chicago Soccer Academy (U17 and U18) and I'm currently playing for Strikers Fox Valley (U18). Being an athlete has gone beyond developing good sportsmanship, the high IQ of the game increased my decision-making and problem-solving skills that come out on the pitch where I work with my team as an impact player. Not only do I make rational and quick decisions, but I've used all of the tactics I've learned and made a habit out of them. This is reflected in my academic performance as well because living the IMSA experience sharpens all the areas that are necessary to make a change in the real world in the medical sector. Through time management and dedicated passion, I've created a balance between school and soccer that taught me skills and healthy habits that will last a lifetime. I'm grateful for all my coaches and the lessons I've learned, and I hope to continue my academic and athletic endeavors in a school I can also call home.
