Personal Statement

I would love to continue playing hockey during college, as this sport has become a very big part of my life. I want to pursue a career in pharmacy, while still being able to be a student athlete as well. I am a good all-around player, and I don’t mind playing where i’m needed most. Through my attendance at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, I took the step to prioritize my education and have pursued further advanced education, while still balancing a sport, and I hope to be able to continue both my academic and athletic excellence in the future.

Yes. Classes at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy contain both honors and AP content, however, they are not explicitly called either. Students can choose to take particular AP tests if they wish. Classes at IMSA are particularly rigorous, and very few students graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA. This is expected.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
