Gracelyn Deweese
2022 Graduating Class
Goalkeeper
My name is Gracelyn Deweese and I’ve been playing soccer for over 10 years. I have been a starter in goal for my High School Varsity team for my entire high school career and for the JV team my 7th and 8th grade years. My sophomore season, I was honored to receive a captain’s band. During my time as captain, I have learned and experienced how a team can only be as good as their weakest player. I would describe myself as a dedicated team player who works hard to better not only myself, but the rest of my team as well. I am very competitive, but I don’t let that get in the way of being a good teammate and captain. Outside of my High School team, I am the starting goalkeeper for the SKY Soccer Club ‘03 team. I began playing for SKY in the winter of my sophomore year. Previous to playing with this club team, I was the starting goalkeeper for Ambassadors Soccer Club during my 8th grade and Freshman year.
I am currently a senior magnet student at Barren County High School and will graduate this spring. I have a 4.0 GPA, thriving in math, science and engineering. I am actively involved in numerous clubs and activities at my school, where I hold leadership roles. I am a Kentucky Governor's Scholar, a member of the Henry Clay High School Student Congress, Congressional App Challenge Winner, recipient of the Prudential Spirit Presidential Volunteer Service Award, HOBY Ambassador, and 2020 Kentucky Teen Miss United States Agriculture. In addition to soccer, I play varsity basketball, track, and tennis (making me a KHSAA Triple Threat). When not playing sports, I enjoy going to the lake, shopping and competing in pageants.
I am thankful to have an amazing family who can understand and offer unconditional love and support for my dream of playing collegiate soccer.
