Lesly Perez '20 Recruiting Profile

My life is a mysterious and unique. When I first picked up a ball it was like faith or call it destiny even. Growing up I was introduced with sports. I grew with the love of kicking a ball and passing a volleyball. I just begun playing volleyball in the 7th grade and soccer in 8th for my school team. I never knew what to do with my life till I spent it playing sports, sports are my life. The experience of playing is fantastic and a real rush.

When I first started I loved the feeling, its like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. The first days of tryout I would give anything to relive. When it came to soccer I loved the adrenaline rushing through my veins and my heart racing as my hair danced in the wind. Volleyball, it was the joy from using my strength to serve the ball or spiking. I seen how much power I hold inside of me and I know that I have potential.

As a student in high school my grades are great. They could be better and I determined to make them even superior. Also, there's one passion I have that will only grow as I do. Art, I spend half of my day always drawing in class or in my sketchbook at home listening to music. I guess you can say I’m talented but I say I’m just as ordinary as the others. As I start something new I intend to express my feeling throw my work. My work defines me as an individual and is shared through art. Sometimes there is no actual object it's just the layout that makes up the entire piece.

In the future I wish to follow in a path where I can study in fine arts, cosmetology, and also play sports and go the distance to play professional. Once I complete my classes, earn my licence and succeed in art I can continue focusing on sports. I’ve always fantasized one day fulfilling that dream. That maybe someday down the line I will get rewarded for my hard work and requested to play for the big leagues.
