Hi, I'm Kelsey Johnson and am now a Senior at Sherando High School in Stephens City, Virginia (Class of 2022), I have played soccer since I was six years old and started travel soccer when I was still in 5th grade. I love the sport. I love the team atmosphere. I love bonding with my teammates. I love the competition. I love the idea of fighting for something you want. Why do I want to play in college? I guess I just don't want it to end! I just enjoy playing, competing and being part of a team that is striving to achieve a goal, both on and off the field.
My natural position is at outside mid or wing. I have played both right and left. Though I am right footed, I have learned to use my left pretty well. I also have played a lot of striker and some center mid. I will always give you 100% and leave everything I have on the game field and the practice field.
I am on track to graduate high school with an advanced diploma and have taken mostly honors and AP courses and qualified for NHS this year while balancing work and soccer. I am pretty open as far as what schools I would go to as I am undecided on what I might major in. Right now Nursing, PT or sports medicine are what I am thinking about, maybe interior design?. I would like to stay within 4-5 hours from home, but could consider further if I love the school. I hope to be a contributor to the team I am a part of, and am willing to work hard to gain that trust.
