Swimming in college is a big decision for me – one that I have debated for over a year. I am confident that I know how much effort I must give to be a successful collegiate athlete and scholar. Now that I have made up my mind to become part of something even bigger and better than my tremendous high school experience, I am very excited to tell you what sets me apart.
I am a prompt and prepared team member. I demonstrate respect for my coaches and my peers in and out of the water. I work very hard and I don’t complain. Once I put my mind to something, I am determined and committed to achieving that goal. In fact, this past summer (2013) I decided to complete 4 sprint triathlons. I placed in the top 3 in all of the races for my age group and won overall for girls 15-18. I am ready for this new challenge!
My teammates would tell you that I am dedicated, energetic and fun to be around while always pushing it to the max at practice. They would also say that I like to lighten the mood and keep people upbeat. I believe they selected me to lead the team as a Captain because I care about our success and expect best efforts from everyone, especially myself.
Other than spending time on my schoolwork, swimming and family, I have been employed for over a year with a marketing consultant where I am responsible for inventory control, logistics and data entry. Sometimes, it is difficult to balance everything but I am committed to completing my tasks and learning as much as I can.
I am looking for a great education but I am also looking for a tremendous swim program where I can achieve my personal best. I want to be part of a something memorable. I want to make incredible memories and achieve greatness.
