Personal Statement
My name is Isabelle Dutranoit ’19 and I am interested in track and field/cross country. I started running freshman year but did not take it seriously until the end of sophomore year. My junior year XC Season was hampered by a severe case of Anemia diagnosed in December. This deficiency put my running goals to the test. I managed to run through my recovery, never missing a day of practice. I successfully reached my goal of making the Bermuda CARIFTA team, 2 months later in the 3000m.
I further improved my time at the Division 2 New England Championships competing in the 3000m, despite competing with a concussion.
My training has predominately consisted of one on one coaching or leading the workouts. I would enjoy the opportunity to improve my performance by being pushed by teammates of similar or better ability.
I know that I am capable of working hard and running faster now that the obstacles I encountered have been overcome. I demonstrated perseverance, dedication and true grit to reach my goals this season, I have not run a race at 100% this season so I know my times can be improved. These experiences have made me a stronger athlete.
