Personal Statement

My name is Kaelyn Dobbins. For as long as I can remember, I have thrived on the thrill of competition. For six years I competed in gymnastics, where I eventually became an AAU National Champion. In 2014, our local school started a cross country program. I joined the team, began training, and quickly realized I had some natural talent. Since that first cross country season my enjoyment of running has become a passion and I've dedicated myself to finding out just how good I can be as a runner. I am currently a junior in high school and competing in my third year of high school cross country and track.

My greatest strengths are my impeccable work ethic and my desire to be the best I can be. These two characteristics have allowed me to excel in all areas of my life. I am in the top of my class academically and have become one of the top runners in my class. I have never feared working hard to achieve my goals and have taken the discipline of my gymnastics career into my running career.

My ultimate goals in the future are to become a state champion, break 5 in the mile, and run cross country and track in college.
